Special Needs Trusts

If you have a disabled child or loved one, it is important to know that they will be protected and taken care of in your absence. While a standard estate plan works for some, there is a reason your loved one’s needs are considered special. Navigating the complexities special needs trusts can be overwhelming without the right help.

Julie began practicing in the area of special needs trusts through the guidance and mentorship of her uncle Robert H. Farley, Jr. Now an expert is his field, Mr. Farley began his disability rights practice over 25 years ago when his mentally disabled son was denied the services he required from the state of Illinois. Julie’s personal connections to the disabled community allow her a unique perspective from which to guide her clients and their families.

Guardianship

When a person is unable to take care of themselves or their personal finances, due to a mental or physical disability, a guardianship can make life easier for both the disabled individual and their family. The court can appoint a guardian(s) to make decisions for the person and manage their financial affairs if certain conditions are met.

Determining which type of guardianship is right for you and your family depends on the circumstances and needs of the disabled individual. Julie will help you consider all the available options and understand how the process works.
