Guardianship

When a person is unable to take care of themselves or their personal finances, due to a mental or physical disability, a Guardianship can make life easier for both the disabled individual and their family.

The Court can appoint a Guardian of the Person and/or a Guardian of the Estate depending on the circumstances and needs of the individual.

Ms. Eberhardt began practicing guardianship when a friend came to her regarding her disabled son who was months away from turning 18.

The friend had received a letter in the mail that her son’s financial benefits would be terminated and he would be left without support services if he was not under guardianship after turning 18.

Insurance Appeals

When you need a medication or treatment that your doctor believes can improve your condition it can be very frustrating having to jump through all the hoops that your insurance company may put in front of you.

Communicating with your insurance provider can be stressful when you are feeling your healthiest; but when you are sick and having to fight for your health it can be debilitating.

Ms. Eberhardt began practicing in the area of insurance appeals when her own insurance company denied her MS medication after diagnosis.

Throughout her five years living with MS, she has fought for medications approval, diagnostic testing approval, and mostly importantly approval for a clinical trial treatment, HSCT, which halted the progression of her MS.

Worker's Compensation

Construction Workers

If you or a loved one are injured at work it is important to know your rights. Too many employees go directly to their employer upon injury, and rely on the information the employer provides on how to proceed in pursuing a worker’s compensation claim.

While you do need to report your injury to your employer, you also need to take care of yourself. A worker’s compensation attorney is there to make sure you get the benefits, both medically and financially, that you are entitled to.

Ms. Eberhardt entered the world of worker’s compensation law following her HSCT treatment. Having worked in both the small firm and solo practice arenas, she decided that in order to maintain her new health and the necessary work/life balance that must go along with it, returning to a small firm was the ideal solution.

Ms. Eberhardt was fortunate that Gordon & Centracchio, LLC., were not only willing but thrilled to welcome her as a part of their team and also allow her to continue to grow her practice with the mission of helping others like herself.

Farley, Jr. Now an expert is his field, Mr. Farley began his disability rights practice over 25 years ago when his mentally disabled son was denied the services he required from the state of Illinois.

Anyone who has ever applied for Social Security Disability Incomes knows that the process of applying and receiving benefits can be more challenging that living with the disability itself.

Ms. Eberhardt began working with SSDI claims, initially on a pro bono basis, assisting her friends in the MS and HSCT communities with their applications and appeals.

Following her return to the law, Ms. Eberhardt expanded her practice to include these types of cases and to continue to working to help disabled individuals and their families obtain the benefits they deserve.

Family Law

Family Dispute

Divorce and child custody cases can be some of the most challenging and complex legal cases. Clients’ lives and the lives of their children depend on the outcome of these cases. Knowing your rights with respect to the distribution of your marital property, debts, and liabilities can change the course of your future. If there are children involved, it is important that the parents reach an outcome that is in their best interests and sets them up for future success.

When your family is under the stress of a divorce or parentage issue, a seasoned law attorney can help you navigate the law while you concentrate on your family’s wellbeing.

When your family is faced with divorce or parentage issues you need an attorney with compassion and understanding. As a child of divorced parents, Ms. Eberhardt began her family law career while still in law school, working in the legal clinic as a third year law student.
